Summary: The Interim Finance Director will oversee all financial operations for a not-for-profit organization focused on social housing and supported living. This role involves leading financial strategy, managing budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The director will also support the executive team in strategic decision-making and work closely with stakeholders to enhance financial governance. The position is expected to last between 3 to 6 months and requires strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the financial strategy and ensuring long-term financial health.
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Managing risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting the executive team with strategic decision-making.
- Working closely with stakeholders to ensure value for money and strong financial governance.
- Leading and managing the accounting & finance department.
- Developing and implementing effective financial strategies.
- Reviewing all processes and procedures.
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant.
- Proven experience as a Finance Director within the social housing sector.
- Experience of reporting and presenting complex information to Boards or Committees.
- Experience of strategic finance, business planning, and cost analysis.
- Evidence of developing processes and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Experience of performance improvement, quality assurance, risk management, and value for money improvement.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
