One of London's most prestigious independent schools, globally recognised for its offering, is seeking an experienced and intuitive Finance Director for a period of c. 6 months while they make a permanent appointment. The post-holder will provide strong financial leadership to the finance team and will begin by leading on a complex VAT project followed by the budgeting process for the group.As the FD, you will be responsible for;Leading the finance team to deliver an efficient and reliable finance functionEnsuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements for charity/educationSupporting the Bursar in delivering next year's budgetWork closely with the Director of Property and IT to support capital planningAnalysing and presenting financial information to Bursar and Governors to aid decision makingOverseeing the provision of reports, returns and management information as requiredManaging external relationships with bankers, auditors and investment advisorsOwing the finance data, ensuring copies are stored in line with policyThe ideal candidate will;Have at least one year's experience in the lead finance role ideally with a school/charityHave proven experience in leading and motivating teams through periods of changeHave strong technical accounting knowledge from either education/charityBe able to move easily between strategic and operational levels and communicate effectively at all levels with a variety of stakeholders.The school is embarking on an exciting new chapter with a new leadership team full of passion, enthusiasm and the desire to innovate.
