Summary: The role of Interim Finance Director involves leading the finance function of a PE-backed tech scale-up on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will manage a finance team, automate systems, and enhance investor reporting processes to support the company's growth ambitions. This position requires a strategic finance operator with experience in a fast-paced environment, particularly within SaaS or FinTech sectors. There is potential for the role to transition into a permanent position based on performance and company needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement robust investor reporting procedure.
- Working closely with the product, marketing, and client engagement teams to ensure cross department alignment.
- Manage accounting function and make continuous process improvements.
- Support the Senior Leadership team with strategic decisions using key financial insights.
- Continuous ERP system improvements.
- Have ownership of the FP&A function, setting up both long & short-term revenue forecasts.
- Develop and present KPI's to the executive team and investors.
- Continuously improve and develop internal controls.
Key Skills:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Qualified.
- 3+ years' experience as a Finance Director or CFO.
- Background in financial controls and audit.
- Commercial acumen and a strong understanding of FP&A principles.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a Private Equity backed business, ideally SaaS or FinTech.
- High level of communication skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and partner with both internal & external stakeholders.
- Background in improving internal processes and efficiencies.

The Client
Harmonic are delighted to be working with an exciting Tech scale-up backed by a notable Private Equity fund to recruit an experienced Interim Finance Director on an initial 6-Month contract. Our client has received a significant capital injection following their acquisition by PE and are looking to bring in an experience finance operator to professionalise and transform their finance function to match with their growth ambitions.
Our client has developed a powerful SaaS product which is utilised by large corporations in the Financial Services space. They have integrated AI into their services which has seen significant growth in clients over the past 12 months. With fresh funding to put towards growth, their priority of the investors is to ensure the right personnel and processes are implemented to maximise growth potential.
The Role
This role comes with the responsibility of managing a Finance team of 4, with a large focus on automating finance systems, ensuring the FP&A function is robust and future proof, and developing a consistent process for efficient investor reporting. The successful candidate must have a broad range skills and be able to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The contract will run for an initial 6-Month period, with the potential for this to become a permanent position.

Day Rate: £700-£900/day (Outside IR35)
Location: Hybrid, London HQ. Open to remote options.
Contract Length: 6 months (potential for extension)
