The Role
Reporting to the COO, the Interim FD will take responsibility for the leadership of the finance function and will work closely with the Executive Team and Board.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic and operational financial leadership
- Leading and supporting the finance team
- Financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Strengthening financial controls, governance and processes
- Supporting the CEO and Board with financial insight and decision-making
- Managing audit, risk and statutory requirements
- Reviewing the effectiveness of the existing finance function
- Supporting organisational change and longer-term financial planning
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with substantial experience at CFO, Finance Director level.
Previous Higher Education experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Candidates from FE, education, public sector, NHS, charity/not-for-profit or complex commercial organisations will also be considered.
You will be a confident senior stakeholder who can quickly establish credibility with the COO, Board and wider leadership team and be comfortable taking ownership from day one.
