Summary: The Technical Finance Director role is a 12-month fixed-term contract within a fast-growing professional services business in High Wycombe. The position requires a technically strong finance professional to lead on compliance, internal controls, and strategic projects while collaborating closely with the CFO and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing financial reporting and coaching a high-performing finance team. This role offers a competitive salary and a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking ownership of financial compliance, controls and technical reporting across the organisation
- Acting as the go-to expert for technical accounting matters (particularly IFRS)
- Overseeing the year-end process and managing the audit relationship
- Supporting business-wide financial projects, including transformation, process improvements and potential M&A activity
- Driving quality, accuracy and timeliness across all statutory and management reporting
- Coaching and supporting a high-performing finance team, ensuring delivery of best-in-class standards
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong post-qualified experience
- Demonstrable technical accounting expertise (IFRS essential)
- Experience in a senior finance leadership role within a fast-paced or complex organisation
- Hands-on, detail-driven and comfortable working at both operational and strategic levels
- A confident communicator who can challenge, influence and collaborate across all areas of the business
- Available at short notice or with a relatively quick start
