Summary: The Interim Finance Director will provide strategic financial leadership for a charity in Elland, West Yorkshire, focusing on cash flow management, developing a five-year financial plan, and preparing the annual budget. This role is critical during a transitional period and offers the potential to evolve into a permanent position. The successful candidate will ensure financial stability and engage with key stakeholders to align financial strategies with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage short- and medium-term cash flow to ensure operational sustainability.
  • Provide financial oversight of the capital appeal and associated costs.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for cash flow fluctuations.
  • Lead the creation of a five-year financial plan aligned with strategic direction.
  • Conduct financial modelling and scenario planning for sustainability strategies.
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop a sustainable financial strategy.
  • Prepare the annual budget considering financial challenges and income diversification.
  • Align budgets with strategic objectives while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Work with department heads on budget forecasts and expenditure plans.
  • Present financial reports to the CEO and Board, ensuring financial sustainability.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with senior finance leadership experience.
  • Experience in managing cash flow, financial planning, and budgeting in complex organizations.
  • Strong understanding of charity sector finance and UK charity regulations.
  • Ability to develop long-term financial strategies and risk management frameworks.
  • Expertise in governance, compliance, and financial control.
  • Experience in healthcare, hospice, or non-profit environments.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Adaptable and proactive with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Salary (Rate): £65,000
