Summary: The role of Interim Finance Director involves overseeing financial management for a global client in the UK for an initial period of three months. The position requires a qualified finance professional with extensive experience in senior financial management, particularly within a multinational manufacturing context. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with financial controls and reporting while leading a finance team. This role is based on-site in Dumfries, Scotland, and requires a commitment of at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adherence to corporate policies, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Provide oversight of day-to-day accounting operations and output of the team, including cost accounting and general ledger activities.
  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital, banking relationships, and tax.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and provide insightful financial analysis to support business operations and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team of six, providing support and development where required.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role with at least 3-5 years in senior financial management within a multinational manufacturing company.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax, statutory reporting, and audit requirements preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team across multiple finance functions.

Salary (Rate): £600.00 yearly

Detailed Description From Employer:

FD Recruit is partnering a global client to appoint an interim FD or Head of Finance for 3 months initially. This would suit a portfolio or fractional Finance Director with capacity for at least 3 days per week. The position is on site and can be based in the North East of England or Scotland. The Finance Director will provide oversight of the financial management for the UK, ensuring robust financial control and statutory reporting. This engagement would suit a Senior Finance Controller, Senior Finance Manager or Head of Finance with excellent technical skills.

The Finance Director will have the following remit:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adherence to corporate policies, and compliance with local regulations adhering to robust controls.
  • Provide oversight of day-to-day accounting operations and output of the team, including cost accounting and general ledger activities.
  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital, banking relationships and tax.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and provide insightful financial analysis to support business operations and strategic decision-making.

To be successful in this role the interim Finance Director must have the following experience:

  • Qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) with degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
