Key Responsibilities:
- Provide stabilising financial leadership across Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Risk and Assurance.
- Advise the Executive Board on financial strategy, development accounting, budgeting, taxation, treasury management, procurement and risk.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting and performance insight to support investment decisions.
- Act as Executive lead for all financial aspects of RSH engagement.
- Oversee treasury strategy, development investment appraisals and procurement discipline.
- Embed strong assurance culture and compliance, strengthening financial insight and capability.
Key Skills:
- Senior finance leadership experience within social housing.
- Excellent regulatory knowledge and confidence to operate at Board level.
- In-depth expertise in housing regulation, financial strategy, assurance, and risk management.

The role & what you take care of: We are seeking an accomplished interim financial leader with proven expertise in rapid diagnostics, executive-level guidance, and robust financial stewardship within the social housing sector. You will bring clarity and confidence to strategic decisions, demonstrate technical rigour, and foster strong relationships at Board level. Your track record includes disciplined treasury and risk management, credible development funding, and value-driven procurement, all underpinned by your commitment to Magna’s values and visible, collaborative leadership.
- Provide stabilising financial leadership across Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Risk and Assurance to support Magna’s strategic priorities and maintain financial resilience.
- Advise the Executive Board on financial strategy, development accounting, budgeting, taxation, treasury management, procurement and risk, enabling clear and confident decision-making.
- Lead robust financial planning, forecasting and performance insight to support sound investment decisions and ensure Magna’s long-term sustainability.
- Act as Executive lead for all financial aspects of RSH engagement, including regulatory returns, viability grading, stability checks and stress-testing.
- Oversee treasury strategy, development investment appraisals and procurement discipline, ensuring liquidity, compliance, risk management and value for money.
- Embed strong assurance culture and compliance, strengthening financial insight and capability, leaving a confident team and improved disciplines in place.
What you need to be successful: You will bring senior finance leadership experience within social housing, excellent regulatory knowledge, and the confidence to operate at Board level from day one. You combine technical depth with pragmatic judgement, and you can quickly bring stability, clarity and pace. Extensive senior financial leadership in social housing, with a proven record of operational delivery and enhanced outcomes. In-depth expertise in housing regulation, financial strategy, assurance, and risk management. Proven experience in leading finance, treasury, procurement, and risk functions, including business planning and resource allocation. Demonstrated ability to deliver complex strategies and investment decisions, with skills in development funding and financial appraisal. Excellent commercial acumen, financial literacy, and communication skills, able to drive value for money and influence at Executive and Board level. Collaborative, inclusive leadership style, fostering accountability, high performance, and a robust assurance culture. A recognised professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) is required.
