Summary: The role of Interim Finance Director is a 6-month contract based in Bristol, aimed at supporting a well-established business during a significant transition. The position requires a hands-on leader with a strong finance background to ensure operational stability and continuity. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the outgoing Finance Director and manage a capable finance team. Immediate availability is preferred, with a focus on on-site work in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a capable finance team (4 direct reports + wider team)
- Oversee management accounts, variance analysis, and financial approvals
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and software providers
- Troubleshoot and resolve finance-related issues as they arise
- Maintain operational stability and confidence during the transition period
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (FD or equivalent)
- Strong technical and commercial finance background
- Comfortable working fully on-site in a fast-paced environment
- Able to start within the next one-two weeks
- Experience with Acex Financials and/or Isaac ERP is desirable but not essential.

The Team & Tools You'll be joining a well-structured finance function, including credit control, purchase ledger, management accounts, and IT. The business operates with Acex Financials and a bespoke ERP system (Isaac).
