Summary: The Interim Finance Director will provide strategic financial oversight for a housing charity in Bournemouth, ensuring compliance and robust governance during a transitional period. This leadership role involves managing the finance function and developing a high-performing team while advising the Board and Executive Team. The position is hybrid, requiring three days in the office each week. The contract is initially for 3–6 months, with potential for extension or permanence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance function, ensuring compliance with regulatory and charity sector requirements.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the Board and Executive Team.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive efficiency and value for money across the organisation.
- Support decision-making on long-term financial planning and sustainability.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader within the housing, charity, or not-for-profit sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial management, governance, and compliance.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and influence at Board level.
- Availability to work on-site in Bournemouth three days per week.
