Summary: The role of Interim Finance Business Partner involves collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance financial management and decision-making within a Public Sector organization in Edinburgh. The position requires monitoring budgets, preparing management accounts, and reviewing business cases, with a focus on effective relationship-building. This is a hybrid role, necessitating office attendance twice a week, and is initially contracted for three months with potential for extension. The candidate must be a qualified accountant with experience in finance and proficiency in MS Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnering with key stakeholders to support financial management and decision-making.
- Monitoring spend against budget, updating forecasts, and providing guidance on financial planning.
- Running a smooth month-end process including preparation of management accounts with supporting analysis and commentaries.
- Preparing and reviewing business cases, particularly for ongoing projects.
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA).
- Experience as a finance business partner, ideally in the Public Sector.
- Confident in using MS Excel to at least an intermediate level, with the ability to navigate and manipulate large data sets.
- Effective in building relationships outside of finance and influencing decisions.
