Summary: The Interim Finance Business Partner will support major energy infrastructure projects, focusing on civils and capex investment. This role requires a qualified accountant with experience in complex project environments, particularly within the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors. The position involves strategic business partnering, project accounting, stakeholder engagement, and management reporting. The contract is for 6-12 months and offers a competitive day rate outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with programme managers and delivery leads to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions, and support decision-making across major capex programmes.
- Ensure accurate tracking of project spend, forecasting, and alignment with financial plans.
- Act as a conduit between finance, operations, and delivery teams, translating financial data into actionable insights.
- Produce and present management accounts, highlighting key variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the implementation of financial controls and reporting frameworks across infrastructure programmes.
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or similar sectors.
- Background in complex, multi-stakeholder project environments.
- Strong understanding of project accounting and capital investment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

I'm currently working with a leading energy business to recruit an Interim Finance Business Partner to support a portfolio of large-scale infrastructure programmes, with a particular focus on civils and capex investment. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in complex project environments and has a proven track record in similar industries - energy, utilities, infrastructure, or large-scale engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Partnering: Work closely with programme managers and delivery leads to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions, and support decision-making across major capex programmes.
- Project Accounting Expertise: Ensure accurate tracking of project spend, forecasting, and alignment with financial plans. Experience in project accounting is essential.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a conduit between finance, operations, and delivery teams, translating financial data into actionable insights.
- Management Reporting: Produce and present management accounts, highlighting key variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Governance & Controls: Support the implementation of financial controls and reporting frameworks across infrastructure programmes.
What We're Looking For:
