Summary: The role of Interim E-Commerce Regulatory Counsel involves providing legal support for a high-growth international technology business as it expands across EMEA. Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on marketplace and e-commerce regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Managing and synthesising local counsel advice and identifying key legal and operational risks.
  • Developing country-by-country legal risk assessments and market-entry frameworks.
  • Supporting business stakeholders on localisation requirements and regulatory implementation.
  • Advising on product compliance, consumer protection, advertising, platform governance, content moderation and online marketplace obligations.
  • Working closely with legal, policy, product and business teams in a fast-paced international environment.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of EU digital and consumer regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience advising on issues such as Digital Services Act (DSA), consumer protection and advertising rules, product compliance and product safety, GDPR and related digital regulation, AI and emerging technology regulation, platform governance and marketplace obligations.
  • Experience coordinating multi-jurisdictional advice and working with external counsel.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Additional European language skills are advantageous.

We are working with a high-growth international technology business seeking an experienced E-Commerce Regulatory Counsel to support a major expansion programme across EMEA. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with strong experience advising online platforms, marketplaces, technology companies or consumer-facing digital businesses on complex regulatory and market-entry issues.

The Role

You will act as a key legal partner supporting expansion into new jurisdictions across Europe and neighbouring markets, providing practical, commercially focused advice across the full e-commerce lifecycle.

  • Advising on marketplace and e-commerce regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Managing and synthesising local counsel advice and identifying key legal and operational risks.
  • Developing country-by-country legal risk assessments and market-entry frameworks.
  • Supporting business stakeholders on localisation requirements and regulatory implementation.
