Summary: The role of Interim Divisional Finance Director involves providing financial leadership for a multi-site industrial client with a turnover of £500 million. The position requires strategic partnership with the business unit's leadership to develop and implement financial plans while ensuring compliance with regulations. The successful candidate will lead finance and procurement teams, driving performance and investment decisions across the Southwest of England. This is a 6-month contract requiring weekly travel to various sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the business unit’s Managing Directors and leadership team to develop and deliver the business unit’s strategy, five-year plan, and annual budget.
- Provide financial and business leadership, challenge, and insight to shape performance, investment, and decision-making.
- Control and manage the business unit’s annual operating budget to ensure all financial targets are achieved and regulations are met.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve working capital performance.
- Act as a trusted business leader alongside the business unit’s MD.
- Lead, develop, and motivate the business unit Finance and Procurement teams, ensuring engagement and professional growth.
- Act as key liaison with Group IT and Procurement to align business unit’s and Group systems and strategies.
Key Skills:
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience or a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven track record of financial leadership at senior level within a complex, multi-site organisation, with international experience.
- Strong experience of finance business partnering, providing strategic advice and decision support.
- Demonstrable success in driving business performance and achieving financial targets.
- Experience of leading additional functions such as Procurement or IT would be advantageous.

Our multi-site industrial client requires a very commercial and curious Interim Divisional Finance Director for a 6-month contract. The group turnover is £500million and will require weekly travel to the sites that sit across the Southwest of England. You will be working for a business c 200m t/o reporting to the business unit MD and will be responsible for:
- Partner with the business unit’s Managing Director’s and FD’s and leadership team to develop and deliver the business unit’s strategy, five-year plan and annual budget.
- Provide financial & business leadership, challenge and insight to shape performance, investment and decision making.
- Control and manage the business unit’s annual operating budget to ensure all financial targets are achieved and financial and statutory regulations are met.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve working capital performance.
- A business leader trusted as the business unit number two alongside the business unit’s MD.
- Lead, develop and motivate the business unit Finance and Procurement teams, ensuring engagement, professional growth and succession planning.
- Act as key liaison with Group IT and Procurement to align business unit’s and Group systems and strategies.
