Summary: The role of Interim Divisional Finance Director involves leading the finance function for a well-known consumer business in the North of England for a 6-month assignment. The position requires overseeing financial reporting, cash flow, and managing a small team while providing commercial insights to support decision-making. The successful candidate will work on-site 3–4 days per week and report directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance function, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting and cash flow
- Provide commercial insight to support decision-making across the business
- Manage and deliver a planned IT system upgrade, ensuring minimal disruption
- Prepare and present financial information clearly to internal stakeholders
- Act as a key business partner across departments, driving efficiency and control
- Coach and develop a small team of finance professionals
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Finance Director in a product-led or manufacturing environment that is immediately available
- Comfortable operating in a mid-sized, hands-on setting (sub-£100m turnover)
- Strong technical skills across Excel and PowerPoint – essential for reporting and presentations
- Track record of managing or supporting system upgrades or finance transformation
- Confident, commercially minded and able to communicate clearly at all levels
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, office-based environment for the majority of the week
