Summary: The Interim Director of Finance will oversee financial management for a not-for-profit organization in Edinburgh for an initial 4-6 month period. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role involves managing budgeting processes, treasury planning, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also support strategic planning and act as the main liaison with external auditors. A fully qualified accountant with experience in the charitable sector is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the annual budgeting process and its regular monthly monitoring and reporting.
- Leading on Treasury Plan, including commissioning independent advice and managing borrowing and loan requirements.
- Participating in the development and review of strategic plans.
- Supporting financial planning for current and future activities, including developing forecasting tools and reporting systems.
- Acting as the main point of contact with External Auditors.
- Ensuring efficient management of the finance function and team.
- Producing timely and accurate budgets and accounts.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Advising the CEO and Board on finance-related matters.
- Identifying finance-related risks in the Board Assurance Framework.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant.
- Experience as a Director of Finance or Head of Finance.
- Background in the charitable or not-for-profit sectors.
- Strong financial management and planning skills.
- Ability to produce accurate financial reports and budgets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in treasury management.
