Summary: The role of Interim Communications Lead involves supporting communication-related matters for a project team and the new company in Belfast. Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish Communications "set up" and outputs for the Newco in Belfast.
  • Support the creation of internal communications tools and channels for onboarding colleagues.
  • Define and deliver key messaging and communications materials during the transition phase.
  • Interact with UK and global communications teams to manage consistent messaging to external audiences.

Key Skills:

  • Established experience in communications (internal, external, community relations).
  • Experience in M&A communications, transformation, and change.
  • Good understanding of company structure, products, and the UK environment.
  • Understanding of Northern Ireland as an operating environment.
  • Comms plan definition and execution.
  • Strategic thinking with quick implementation ability.
  • Ability to connect with different stakeholders across functions and divisions.
  • Excellent writing and content creation skills.
  • Event management capability.
  • Understanding of local UK media and effective engagement.
  • Understanding of community relations and engagement with neighbours.
  • Understanding of internal communications channels and engagement with colleagues.

Detailed Description From Employer:

Our client has an opportunity for an interim Communications Lead to join them on a contract basis. You will be working closely with a project team, wider communications teas and leaders of the new company to support all communication-related matters.

Role: Interim Communications Lead

Location: Broughton, Flintshire - 60% onsite as a minimum

Hours: 35 per week

Hourly Rate: £39.98 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS required to start

Contract: 6 months from start

*This role will involve regular travel to Belfast*

What you'll be doing:

  • Plays a key role in the establishment of Communications "set up" and outputs for the Newco in Belfast, bringing local needs into alignment with communications approach in the UK as appropriate.
  • Supports the creation of interim and long-term internal communications tools and channels to support the onboarding of colleagues.
  • Works with the project team to define and deliver key messaging and communications materials during the transition phase.
  • Interacts with wider UK and global communications team - and the public affairs team - to manage consistent messaging to external audiences.

Requirements:

  • Established experience in communications (internal, external, community relations)
  • Experience of M&A comms environment, transformation and change
  • Good understanding of the company structure, its products and the environment in the UK
  • Good understanding of Northern Ireland as an operating environment
  • Comms plan definition and execution
