Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier and technology contracts.
- Advising on outsourcing arrangements, subcontracting structures and back-to-back contractual frameworks.
- Providing legal support on matters relating to payments, banking regulations and conduct requirements.
- Working closely with business stakeholders to ensure products, services and contractual arrangements meet applicable regulatory obligations.
- Supporting legal and compliance teams with regulatory analysis and implementation of evolving requirements.
- Advising on legal risk across commercial initiatives and strategic projects.
- Assisting with the review and enhancement of customer terms, supplier terms and internal governance documentation.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer with proven in-house or private practice experience within payments sector.
- Strong commercial contracts background with experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
- Knowledge of payments regulation, retail banking and/or consumer finance.
- Understanding of material outsourcing requirements and regulatory expectations within regulated environments.
- Ability to provide pragmatic, commercial and risk-based legal advice.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Awareness or working knowledge of the UK financial services regulatory framework would be advantageous.
