Summary: The Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead financial transformation and support a purpose-led organization through a significant divestment and transition period. This role involves preparing the business for sale, overseeing financial due diligence, and ensuring operational readiness. The position requires a commercially astute leader with experience in M&A and transformation, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract with a pro rata salary of £100,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial and operational preparation for the sale of a defined customer base
- Own the project plan and manage all aspects of financial due diligence and acquisition readiness
- Structure, streamline, and stabilize the business through pre-sale, transition, and post-sale phases
- Operate as the key liaison for the acquiring party, ensuring transparent and accurate data exchange
- Oversee forecasting, reporting, and risk management with a strong commercial lens
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of a permanent CFO and contribute to the restructuring of the finance function
- Collaborate with the Operations Director to assess and deliver a future-fit Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Key Skills:
- Experience leading financial planning and restructuring projects, including business unit separation
- Direct involvement in M&A, specifically in divestments, due diligence, and transitional finance
- Exposure to systems transformation such as WMS and ERP implementations
- Ability to operate as a strategic partner to CEOs and senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to influence cross-functionally
- Skill in translating complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable decisions in fast-paced environments
