Summary: The Interim Chief Executive Officer will oversee the operations of a £30 million turnover charity, ensuring financial health and compliance with regulations. The role involves collaborating with the Board and Strategic Leadership Team to develop strategic plans and performance targets while fostering a culture of accountability and learning. The CEO will also maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders to enhance the organization's reputation and maximize opportunities. This position is expected to last between 9 to 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Board and Strategic Leadership Team to develop strategic plans, business plans, budgets, and performance targets.
- Ensure the organization delivers excellent outcomes for service users, funders, and employees.
- Maximize income and control expenditure in line with budgets and organizational values.
- Champion a culture of learning and accountability, ensuring visibility and value of everyone’s impact.
- Provide accurate management information and guidance to the Board of Trustees for informed decision-making.
- Ensure strong relationships with key external stakeholders to build a reputation for excellence and maximize opportunities.

Starfish Search are working with a £30 million turnover charity to recruit an Interim CEO. The post holder will be responsible for the overall activity of the organisation, ensuring strong financial health, modelling their vision and values, leading all external relations activity and ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and charitable requirements.
You Will:
- Work with the Board and Strategic Leadership Team to develop their strategic plan, business plans, budgets and performance targets
- Ensure that the organisation delivers excellent outcomes for people who use their services, funders and employees
- Ensure that income is maximised, and expenditure is controlled in line with budgets in a way that is congruent to their values
- Champion a culture of learning and accountability, ensuring everyone’s impact is visible and valued
- Provide appropriate and accurate management information and other guidance to the Board of Trustees to ensure they have a clear and accurate understanding of the health and performance of the organisation and are able to take informed decisions
- Ensure strong and positive relationships with key external stakeholders to ensure that the organisation builds a reputation for excellence and that opportunities are maximised
You Will Have:
- A proven track record of leading a complex and intricate not for profit organisation
- Proven track record of supporting and delivering organisational culture change
- Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of clients, stakeholders and partners including other charities, businesses and funders
This role is running for a period of 9-12 months and offers a salary of circa £130,000
