Interim Buyer

Your new company

A leading manufacturing organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join its procurement team on an initial six-month contract, with the possibility of a permanent opportunity at the end of the assignment.

Your new role

Reporting into the procurement function, you'll support day-to-day purchasing and contract management activities across a range of indirect spend categories, including facilities management, utilities and office supplies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing supplier relationships and supporting contract activities
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements
  • Advising on procurement approaches that deliver best value and support business objectives
  • Attending supplier meetings and supporting ongoing performance management
  • Raising and managing purchase orders through SAP
  • Maintaining accurate procurement data and system records
  • Expediting orders and liaising with suppliers to minimise supply issues that could impact operations

What you'll need to succeed

Previous procurement experience in a Buyer, Procurement Officer, Category Officer or similar role

Experience managing suppliers and engaging with stakeholders at various levels

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Working knowledge of SAP

Availability to start within the coming weeks

Ability to commute to the Wrexham site three days per week
