Summary: The Interim Building Surveyor role is a six-month contract position within a Local Authority's Property Services and Projects team. The position focuses on ensuring safety, compliance, and effective maintenance of a diverse property portfolio through condition surveys, defect analysis, and project management. The successful candidate will need to have a strong background in building pathology and regulatory compliance, particularly with Health and Safety regulations. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct condition surveys and defect analysis.
  • Oversee repairs and planned maintenance works.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including asbestos, legionella, and fire safety.
  • Manage projects, including specification writing and monitoring contractor performance.

Key Skills:

  • Experience as a Building Surveyor.
  • Knowledge of building pathology and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Strong experience in delivering planned and reactive maintenance projects.

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Building Surveyor to join the Property Services and Projects team in a Local Authority on a six month temporary contract. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safety, compliance and effective maintenance of a diverse property portfolio.
Your new role
As the Interim Building Surveyor, you will be involved in carrying out condition surveys, defect analysis and overseeing repairs and planned maintenance works. You will be required to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations including asbestos, legionella and fire safety. You will also be involved with project management duties including specification writing and monitoring contractor performance.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful for this role you should be an experienced Building Surveyor with experience of delivering planned and reactive maintenance projects. You will be required to have strong knowledge of building pathology and regulatory compliance and should have expertise in CDM Regulations 2015. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is required for this role.
