Summary: The Interim Accountant role is a temporary position based in Oxford, requiring a qualified or finalist-level accountant to manage month-end close, multi-entity accounting, and group reporting for a leading biotechnology research client. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close for multiple EMEAI entities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journals with strong attention to detail.
- Lead group-level close for accruals, prepayments, and investment bonds.
- Perform cost-centre variance analysis for Finance and HR.
- Support half-year and year-end reporting, including audit preparation.
- Liaise with local advisors across Europe (English required; other languages a plus).
- Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Provide ad hoc support across the wider Finance team when needed.
Key Skills:
- Qualified or finalist-level accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Solid background in financial accounting and reporting.
- Strong Excel skills; good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Microsoft D365, Blackline, and SharePoint desirable.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently under pressure.
- Team player with excellent communication and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
