Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities and identifying areas of risk or weakness.
- Challenging assumptions and entries to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Supporting the month-end close process and investigating discrepancies.
- Working with finance teams to improve reconciliation quality and completeness.
- Enhancing journal templates and risk management processes.
- Collaborating with Continuous Improvement teams to implement automation and process enhancements.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Providing clear documentation and reporting on findings and recommendations.
Key Skills:

An interim accountant is required to join a leading Media business based in Manchester on a 6-month fixed-term contract (hybrid working, 2 days per week in the office). This is a key hire to support the finance operations team during a period of transformation. This role has arisen due to internal restructuring and is ideal for someone who can bring a critical eye to balance sheet processes and reconciliations. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can challenge existing processes, identify risks, and drive improvements.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities and identifying areas of risk or weakness.
