Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Director of Finance in setting the 2025/26 budget
- Updating financial data for monthly management accounts
- Preparing management accounts for presentation to trustees
- Processing accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Reviewing budget variances and investigating over/underspends
- Highlighting key financial trends, risks, and opportunities
- Reviewing rent and service charge income
- Reporting on arrears for the first two quarters of FY 2025/26
Key Skills:
- A Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA. QBE will be considered
- Proven experience in the Housing Association or Charity sector
- Strong understanding of budgeting, reporting and variance analysis
- Experience preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts
- Able to work independently and communicate effectively with trustees and senior stakeholders

Marks Sattin are partnering with a Birmingham based Supported Housing organisation to recruit an Interim Accountant on a 3 month contract assignment. The role will require a minimum of 3 days per week in the offices, so applicants must be Birmingham based or on the outskirts of Birmingham. An immediate start is available.
The Interim Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and will support them in improving processes across the finance function along with ensuring readiness for the financial audits. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Housing Association and/or Charity in order to make an instant impact.
The Interim Accountant will be responsible for:
