Summary: As an Intelligence Officer within Counter Terrorism Policing, you will collaborate with Intelligence Analysts and Researchers to gather, evaluate, and disseminate intelligence aimed at managing threats and risks to the force and region. Your role will involve real-time research, analysis, and the preparation of intelligence reports to support operational activities. You will also engage with partner agencies and handle sensitive information in compliance with established policies. This position is critical in enhancing the intelligence landscape for high-risk individuals and situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching and assessing intelligence on individuals identified as highest harm threats.
- Gathering, analysing and de-conflicting intelligence, producing case files and subject profiles.
- Identifying intelligence gaps and helping set intelligence requirements.
- Supporting live operational activity with real-time research and evaluation of information.
- Managing the information that is available to ensure it is up to date and accurate.
- Accessing Police systems and open source material, working closely with the Intelligence Analysts.
- Handling of covertly obtained material in accordance with identified policy and process.
- Working with partner agencies to provide intelligence support to major covert investigations.
- Conducting intelligence debriefs where appropriate.
- Preparing of RIPA applications.
Key Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in intelligence gathering and analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the National Decision Model (NDM).
- Familiarity with police systems and open source intelligence.
- Understanding of covert operations and handling sensitive information.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
