Summary: The Integration Engineer role involves leading the diagnosis of software and systems issues during the development phase of automotive vehicle platforms. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the diagnosis of software and systems issues in the development phase of automotive vehicle platforms.
  • Be part of the Central Systems Integration team responsible for planning and coordinating software delivery from multiple ECUs.
  • Focus on issues resolution, understanding root causes, and assisting with resolution of systems and software issues.
  • Engage with complex issues to aid in data gathering, defining problems, and analyzing data to identify responsible teams.
  • Determine urgency levels during initial investigations and ensure accuracy of data captured for issue tickets.
  • Keep key testing assets updated and assist in testing complex issues/systems.
  • Collaborate with other business areas to ensure issues are understood and prioritized correctly.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of issue/defect management processes and tools.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and present metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
  • Solid understanding of software integration principles and dependencies.
  • Excellent communication skills for leading discussions on complex matters.
  • High attention to detail and process discipline.
  • Ability to identify areas of weakness and where help is needed.
  • Experience within structured project governance frameworks (e.g., PMO, programme teams) and familiarity with Agile and Waterfall models.

  • Ability to facilitate regular issue review meetings with clear ownership and timely follow-up.

Position Title: Integration Engineer

Duration: Contract

Based in West Midlands

£35.80 per hour (Inside IR35)

Duties:

  • This role is to lead the diagnosis of software and systems issues in the development phase of automotive vehicle platforms.
  • The successful candidate will be part of the Central Systems Integration team.
  • CSI have the key responsibility of planning and coordinating delivery of software from multiple ECUs which when combined deliver the features and systems of the vehicle under development.
  • This particular role within CSI will focus on issues resolution, specifically understanding root cause and assisting with resolution of systems and software issues within the vehicle.
  • They will engage directly with complex issues to aid with data gathering, defining the problem, analysing the data with the intent to understand which team within the Clients' owns the resolution of the problems.

Role Activities:

  • Determine the level of urgency required during the first stages of investigations for an issue
  • Ensuring accuracy of data captured to ensure the quality of level 1 triage issue tickets when raised.
  • Ensure key testing assets are kept up to date and help in testing complex issues / systems
  • Working with all other areas of the business to ensure issues are understood and prioritised correctly
