Summary: The Integration Engineer at Pret will be instrumental in the company's technology transformation, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining API integrations and data pipelines to enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deploy and maintain secure integrations (REST, JSON, XML, JDBC) and data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow across Pret’s systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot APIs, workflows, and pipelines for performance, reliability, and errors, ensuring consistent uptime and efficiency.
  • Lead data integration efforts to transform, extract, and load data into other platforms and systems.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing automations and integrations for efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across all business units to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Conduct peer reviews, ensuring solutions meet business and technical requirements with a keen eye for detail whilst maintaining code quality and adherence best practices.
  • Work within an Agile framework, managing priorities, supporting sprint planning, and contributing to a DevOps-led development lifecycle.
  • Champion best practices in API security (OAuth, JWT), version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and process documentation.
  • Explore and implement emerging tools and technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks in integrations, providing timely support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Facilitate the deployment and configuration of integrations in various environments, including development, testing, and production.

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience as an Integration Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Mulesoft and Azure.
  • GCP (Compute Engine) or Alteryx is desirable.
  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining API integrations and data pipelines (REST, JSON, XML, JDBC).
  • Experience with RAML and/or RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency in data systems including Snowflake, SQL, and ETL tools for data integration and transformation.
  • Experience in monitoring APIs, workflows, and pipelines, identifying and resolving performance issues.
  • Ability to work in a DevOps-led team using Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and compliance with security policies.
  • Manage APIs using API management tools, including API Gateway, policies, and security configurations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

What we’re looking for The Integration Engineer will play a critical role in Pret’s technology transformation by designing, developing, and maintaining pipelines, API integrations, and automated processes across the business. Working as part of Pret’s engineering team, this role will focus on building integrations to improve operational efficiency and drive innovation. Reporting to the Senior Integrations Engineer, the Integration Engineer will be responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing integrations and workflows that enhance business capabilities. This includes monitoring and optimising data pipelines and APIs to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. In addition to delivering core automation solutions, the Integration Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for data integration and API development. Working closely with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Payroll, HR, and beyond, the role will gather requirements, support UAT, and ensure solutions align with Pret’s technology strategy. This role will be a key enabler of Pret’s DevOps-led, Agile environment, contributing to integration best practices, process reengineering, and continuous improvement initiatives to unlock the full potential of Pret’s data.
