Integration Developer - Temporary (up to 24 months)

Summary: The Integration Developer role is a temporary position focused on designing, developing, and implementing APIs to facilitate data exchange within the RNLI's Data Services and Integration team. The developer will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance data services and ensure robust integration solutions. This position requires a strong technical background in API development and a commitment to safeguarding and diversity within the organization. The role is hybrid, allowing for a mix of remote and on-site work in Poole, Dorset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement robust APIs for data exchange between software systems.
• Create API specifications, documentation, and guidelines for effective usage.
• Collaborate with business analysts and IT teams to gather integration requirements.
• Build integrations for real-time data synchronization and process automation.
• Identify and resolve API integration issues promptly.
• Ensure security protocols and authentication mechanisms are in place for API interactions.
• Manage the lifecycle of APIs including testing, monitoring, and versioning.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience as an API Integration Developer or similar role.
• Proficiency in API development using REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.
• Familiarity with API management tools like Postman and Gravitee.
• Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, and synchronization techniques.
• Problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving integration issues.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
