Summary: The Insurance Officer role at REED involves managing the insurance and risk finance function within the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The position requires collaboration with legal and risk management teams to provide guidance on insurance matters and to handle claims processes effectively. This temporary full-time role offers hybrid working arrangements and is focused on achieving best value in insurance provision. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the administration of the organization’s insurance/risk finance program, including necessary changes and providing guidance on insurance matters.
- Oversee the purchase of external insurance cover and related services, ensuring compliance with EC Directives and organizational policies.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and premiums to achieve best value in insurance provision.
- Manage claims handling processes from notification to settlement, including investigating claims and determining liability.
- Analyze internal fund provision and produce statistical and financial reports.
- Provide general advice on insurance matters, including assessing contractors’ insurance details.
Key Skills:
- Education: Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
- Extensive practical work experience in the insurance field, including claims handling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance claims and administration.
- Sound knowledge of insurance law and associated contracts.
- Experience of insurance management within the public sector.
- Experience using computerised claims handling systems.
