Summary: The Instrument Technician role is based in Hampshire and requires the technician to work on-site five days a week for an initial six-month contract. The position demands extensive maintenance experience with instruments and electrical equipment in safety-critical environments, particularly in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors. The role offers a competitive hourly rate outside of IR35 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on installed instrument and electrical equipment.
  • Work within a safety-critical environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct Fire & Gas testing and understand the operation of various systems.
  • Utilize knowledge of IEC 60079 and maintain CompEx 01-04 certification.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in relevant equipment.
  • Experience in safety-critical environments (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical).
  • Instrument qualification (apprenticeship or NVQ level 3) with electrical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Fire & Gas testing.

Essential Skillset:
- 5+ years maintenance experience on equipment related to the installed instrument and/or electrical equipment.
- Experience working within a safety critical environment (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical)
- Possess instrument qualification (apprenticeship or NVQ level 3) with a good working knowledge in electrical.
- Experience with Fire & Gas testing and basic knowledge of how all the different systems work
- Proficient in IEC 60079 and hold in date CompEx 01-04 certification
