The work involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues with laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals, managing user accounts and access permissions within Active Directory and Microsoft 365, supporting software installation and updates, handling escalations from the service desk, and assisting with IT projects such as device refresh programmes, office moves, and system rollouts. Desktop Support contractors are brought in most commonly to cover staff absences, manage a project workload spike, or provide additional capacity during a period of significant IT change.
What sets strong Desktop Support contractors apart is are broad and generalist.
