Summary: The Infrastructure Support Engineer role involves providing operational support to the core Infrastructure team, primarily by handling escalated incidents from the Helpdesk. Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 2nd/3rd-line technical support for escalated incidents from the Helpdesk.
- Supporting a broad Windows estate: Windows Server 2019/2022, Windows 11 clients, Windows Embedded devices.
- Assisting in maintaining and troubleshooting VMware 8 environments.
- Using tools such as HPDM (or similar) to support thin-client patching.
- Performing basic troubleshooting on Active Directory and server-related issues.
- Supporting general infrastructure tasks to ensure stability across the estate.
- Handling light Cisco switching tasks (desirable, not essential).
Key Skills:
- Good all-round IT infrastructure knowledge and hands-on experience.
- Strong Windows OS PC support background.
- Basic understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Exposure to VMware virtualisation.
- Experience with HPDM or similar endpoint/thin-client patching tools.
- Some experience with Cisco switching is an advantage but not essential.

We're looking for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to assist the core Infrastructure team with day-to-day operational support. This role will handle escalations from the Helpdesk, allowing senior engineers to focus on project delivery. You'll support a mixed Windows environment, working across servers, virtualisation, client devices, and network components.
Your responsibilities as the Infrastructure Support Engineer:
