Summary: The AWS Infrastructure Support Engineer role is a permanent position based in Birmingham, requiring active SC and NPPV3 clearance. The engineer will focus on Windows and Linux system administration, including building and managing Linux operating systems, while working with a leading digital transformation business on large-scale IT projects for the public sector. The role involves travel to Birmingham 4 to 5 days a week and an immediate start is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support AWS-based cloud solutions, ensuring best practice cloud security.
- Perform Windows and Linux system administration, including building and hardening Linux operating systems.
- Automate processes using Shell, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell scripting.
- Configure and manage Juniper firewalls and switches.
- Manage MS Active Directory configuration and monitoring using Grafana and Prometheus.
- Utilize Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management.
- Maintain active SC and NPPV3 clearance throughout employment.
Key Skills:
- Experience with a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS).
- Proficient in Windows and Linux system administration.
- Experience in automation using Shell, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell.
- Expertise in Juniper firewall and switch configuration.
- Experience with MS Active Directory.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager, and Node exporter.
- Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
- Active SC Clearance & NPPV3 clearance.
