SQL Infrastructure Engineer - SC Cleared London/Hybrid 6 month contract Inside IR35

We're looking for an experienced SQL Infrastructure Engineer to support database administration, platform upgrades, and transformation projects across a complex enterprise environment. You'll play a key role in delivering reliable, secure, and high-performing SQL services while supporting infrastructure modernisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy SQL databases in line with established standards.
• Perform database backups, restores, upgrades, and migrations.
• Support application migrations to new infrastructure and data centres.
• Carry out quality assurance checks and remediate post-migration issues.
• Manage SQL database decommissioning activities.
• Work closely with infrastructure and security teams to deliver project objectives.

What We're Looking For

• Strong SQL Server administration experience (SQL 2016 onwards).
• Expertise in Always On Availability Groups and High Availability/Disaster Recovery technologies.
• Experience with Windows Clustering, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Knowledge of VMware virtualised environments.
• PowerShell Scripting skills.
• Experience delivering SQL upgrades, migrations, and transformation projects.
• Familiarity with Change and Incident Management processes.

Desirable

• Active Directory, Commvault, and SCOM.
• Power BI experience.
• Jira and Confluence.
• Data centre and cloud migration experience.
• Experience using BMC Remedy/Helix.
