Summary: The Infrastructure Solutions Architect role focuses on leveraging a strong technical background in infrastructure to support data retention projects. The position requires a skilled engineer or architect to work on-site two days a week in Northern locations, particularly within commuting distance to Yorkshire or Scotland. The contract is initially for six months but is expected to extend until 2027, indicating a long-term commitment. The role emphasizes a deep understanding of backup and recovery processes, architecture analysis, and collaboration within Agile and DevOps environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions for data retention projects.
  • Conduct architecture analysis and assessments of current systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Financial Conduct Authority operational resilience requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system design and processes.
  • Utilize modern backup and recovery practices and tooling.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and DevOps practices.
  • Plan for capacity and future growth of systems.
  • Define infrastructure blueprints and patterns.

Key Skills:

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and system thinking skills.
  • Deep understanding of backup and recovery processes.
  • Familiarity with Financial Conduct Authority operational resilience requirements.
  • Experience in architecture analysis techniques and processes.
  • Knowledge of systems and software engineering design across the life cycle.
