Infrastructure Solution Architect - FTC
6-month initial FTC - likely to extend for 12/18 months as a long term programme
Circa £100,000 per annum (pro rated)
Hybrid - predominantly remote but with occasional visits to London for workshops and key meetings
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major infrastructure, resilience and technology uplift programme within a large-scale enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide solution architecture across multiple infrastructure and resilience programmes, including infrastructure tooling, backup/recovery and BCDR
- Assess solutions at an ecosystem and service level, considering dependencies across compute, storage, network, DNS, NTP, authentication and application infrastructure
- Support the assessment of existing services and their resilience, recoverability and criticality
- Help define and validate RTO/RPO, service criticality, recovery dependencies and resilience requirements
- Feed architectural findings into a wider BCDR framework and service-tiering model
- Review current-state architecture and identify technical dependencies, risks, gaps and remediation requirements
- Work across a large, complex infrastructure estate where current-state documentation and asset information may be incomplete
- Support adjacent infrastructure and transformation initiatives as priorities evolve
- Work closely with Technical Delivery Managers, engineering teams, third parties and senior technology stakeholders
- Produce clear architecture designs, recommendations and supporting documentation
- Ensure solutions consider operational supportability and recoverability alongside functional requirements
Required Experience: We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- Strong experience as a Solution Architect, Infrastructure Architect or Technical Architect within large enterprise environments
- Broad infrastructure knowledge spanning several of:
- Compute/server infrastructure
- Storage
- Networking
- Backup and recovery
- Disaster recovery/BCDR
- DNS/NTP
- Identity and authentication
- Infrastructure management and monitoring tooling
- Application and service resilience
- Experience working on infrastructure transformation, resilience, remediation or technology uplift programmes
- Strong understanding of technical dependencies across complex enterprise services
- Experience assessing existing environments and translating findings into pragmatic architectural recommendations
- Ability to operate independently and work effectively where documentation or current-state information is incomplete
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work directly with technical SMEs, delivery teams and programme leadership
