Summary: The Infrastructure Project Manager role in Warrington involves leading and managing general contractors for non-nuclear civil works within the Nuclear Energy sector. The position requires a strong background in regulated and complex infrastructure projects, with a focus on delivering to program, budget, and quality standards. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days on-site work per week. The contract is for 12 months and falls inside IR35 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate activities across civil works, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules, cost forecasts, and risk registers specific to STG scope.
  • Monitor progress, resolve delivery issues, and drive contractor performance to meet STG milestones.
  • Administer contracts, including change control, claims resolution, and performance tracking.
  • Liaise with internal teams, client representatives, consultants, and local authorities.
  • Provide regular updates, dashboards, and reports to the Senior Project Manager and wider governance forums.
  • Represent STG in coordination meetings and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in line with project controls.

Key Skills:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Project Management accreditation (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2, PMP) preferred.
  • Experience managing General Contractors on civil infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering roadworks, buildings, utilities, and services in a regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, and supplier coordination.
  • Excellent planning, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience working within large-scale infrastructure programmes, ideally in energy or industrial sectors.
  • Experience in regulated or complex infrastructure environments (e.g. energy, transport, utilities) desirable.

Project Manager – Warrington – 12 Month Contract (37.5 hours per week) - £75 - £80 per hour (Inside IR35) Our client are working in the Nuclear Energy sector, playing a crucial part in achieving net-zero carbon emissions. They are looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and manage general contractors to delivery non nuclear civils work. The ideal candidate would have a background in working in highly regulated/ Large complex infrastructure.

Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week in Warrington.

The Key Responsibilities of a Project Manager:
