Infrastructure Project Engineer (VMware, NetApp, Veeam) Outside IR35

Location: Stevenage (Onsite)

Rate: Up to £600 per day

Contract: 12 Months

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure teams responsible for Storage, Backup, Compute and Virtualisation services. This role has been created to help manage an increasing workload across multiple infrastructure initiatives, including technology obsolescence programmes, ransomware resilience projects and service delivery activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and validate project deployments involving:
• HPE Compute Infrastructure
• VMware ESXi/vSphere
• NetApp Storage
• Veeam Backup & Recovery
• Support infrastructure obsolescence and upgrade programmes.
• Review infrastructure requirements and identify hardware, software and service needs.
• Obtain and manage quotations for hardware, software and third-party services.
• Coordinate infrastructure dependencies including:
• Power and electrical requirements
• Cabling and connectivity
• Network switch ports
• VLAN assignments
• IP address reservations
• DNS registrations
• Firewall rule requests
• Provide recommendations and solutions relating to Compute, Virtualisation, Storage and Backup technologies.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
• Proven experience delivering enterprise infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
• VMware ESXi/vSphere
• HPE Server Infrastructure
• NetApp Storage
• Veeam Backup & Recovery
• Experience supporting infrastructure life cycle, upgrade and obsolescence programmes.
• Ability to work independently and drive deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with ITSM and project management tools including Jira, Confluence and Remedy.
