Summary: The Infrastructure Program Manager will lead and deliver large-scale infrastructure migration and transformation programs within a global environment for a leading payments provider. This role is responsible for program vision, planning, governance, and successful delivery while mentoring other managers and driving PMO capability growth. The position requires extensive experience in IT infrastructure project management, particularly in complex migrations and integrations. The role is based in Greater London and is a long-term contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure migration, merger, and transformation programmes.
- Define programme vision, scope, objectives, success criteria, and governance structures.
- Develop and manage multiyear, multiproject plans, budgets, risk registers, and resource plans.
- Establish and maintain target state architectures in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Create migration runbooks, cutover strategies, testing plans, and transition-to-BAU activities.
- Establish PMO governance, reporting cadence, and executive steering mechanisms.
- Deliver regular status reports, dashboards, and artefacts to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage programme finances, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and vendor oversight.
- Monitor quality, performance metrics, and benefits realisation; implement corrective actions.
- Engage with CIO/CTO, business unit leaders, and manage third-party vendors.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies; manage change communications.
- Design and implement scalable training programmes for Programme Managers.
- Ensure migration/transformation outputs are instrumented for BAU and validate post-migration performance.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Certifications: PMP or PgMP; additional certifications such as MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or SAFe/Agile preferred.
- 10+ years in IT Infrastructure programme/project management.
- Proven success in delivering complex IT Infrastructure projects within budget and timeframes.
- Significant experience in matrix-managing teams and stakeholders.
- Technical expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, and on-prem architectures.

Role Overview

- Validate postmigration stabilisation, performance, and service levels; transition operations to the appropriate support teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: PMP or PgMP (or equivalent); additional certifications such as MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or SAFe/Agile preferred.
- 10+ years in IT Infrastructure programme/project management, with strong experience in largescale migrations, data centre moves, cloud adoption, and postmerger integration.
- Proven success in delivering medium to large complex IT Infrastructure projects within budget and specified timeframes, while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Significant experience in matrixmanaging teams and stakeholders for successful completion of projects.
- Technical expertise in enterprise infrastructure (networks, data centres, storage, compute, backup/DR), cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and onprem architectures.
- Familiarity with hybrid/multicloud models, modern security controls, IAM, and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, GDPR, SOX).
- Experience running complex programmes with multiple workstreams, RAID/logging, financial governance, and stakeholder management at senior levels.
