Summary: Robert Half Technology is seeking a VMware Consultant/Infrastructure Engineer for a contract role with a leading financial services organization. The position involves designing and supporting VMware infrastructure, developing Infrastructure as Code solutions, and collaborating with various teams to ensure a resilient infrastructure. The role is based in London with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and support VMware-based infrastructure across a complex enterprise environment.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate provisioning and operations.
- Lead development and customisation within VMware Aria Automation (vRA 8) and vRealize Orchestrator.
- Implement and integrate automation workflows using PowerShell, Python, and REST APIs.
- Support and enhance VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) full stack environments.
- Manage and optimise monitoring and logging using VMware Aria Operations & Logs.
- Collaborate closely with platform, security, and operations teams to ensure resilient and scalable infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and automation issues across VMware platforms.
- Contribute to best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Proven experience as a VMware Consultant/Systems Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer in enterprise environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with vRA 8 and vRealize Orchestrator development.
- Strong PowerShell skills.
- Extensive experience with VMware Aria Operations & Logs.
- REST API integration and automation experience.
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF/VCFA) knowledge.
- Python development experience.
