Summary: This role is for an Infrastructure Engineer based in York, focusing on hands-on infrastructure and security management within a cloud-first, Microsoft-led environment. The position involves working in a small team to support international operations and requires a strong technical background in Azure and related technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and optimise Azure infrastructure to ensure availability, resilience, and performance.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and security incidents across UK and US operations.
- Deliver cloud migration, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Administer endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune and Group Policy.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting through Azure Monitor and associated tooling.
- Support identity and access management, including Azure AD (Entra ID) and Conditional Access policies.
- Maintain patching, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on 2nd/3rd line experience in infrastructure engineering within a mid-sized business environment.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including networking, governance, and security controls.
- Proven experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD (Entra ID), Conditional Access, and endpoint protection.
- Comfortable with automation and Scripting using PowerShell and/or Bash.
- Good understanding of incident management, end-to-end support, and continuity planning.
- A confident communicator who can engage effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- A genuine SME in at least one technical discipline - we want people who are passionate about what they do.
- Willingness to participate in very occasional out-of-hours support.
