Summary: The Infrastructure Engineer role involves supporting a critical healthcare screening platform that is transitioning from physical datacentre infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. The position requires hands-on experience with both traditional and cloud environments, particularly in Linux administration and container management. The engineer will be responsible for system performance monitoring, configuration management, and implementing Infrastructure as Code. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Linux production and staging environments (multi-distro experience desirable, Red Hat essential)
  • Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes, alongside traditional VM infrastructure
  • Monitor system performance, availability, logging and security
  • Manage configuration, patching, and system hardening
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM or Bicep in Azure
  • Configure and monitor networking, Firewalls, routing and connectivity
  • Support PostgreSQL database setup, configuration and monitoring
  • Use Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and observability
  • Support Git-based CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Work with engineers and developers to ensure platform stability during migration

Key Skills:

  • Strong Linux administration (Red Hat essential)
  • Docker and Kubernetes container platforms
  • Terraform/ARM/Bicep for Infrastructure as Code
  • Bash and/or Python Scripting (advanced level)

We're looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to support a critical healthcare screening platform used for large-scale diagnostic and population health services.

The platform currently runs on physical datacentre infrastructure and is migrating to Microsoft Azure, so experience across both traditional infrastructure and cloud environments is essential.
