Summary: The Infrastructure Engineer role is focused on developing and designing software using AWS services, particularly database products, with a strong emphasis on Python and Terraform. The position requires extensive hands-on experience in system design, application development, and operational stability, along with leadership in technology projects. The role is based in Glasgow or Bournemouth and involves working five days a week from the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design software using AWS services, especially database products.
- Deliver system design, application development, testing, and ensure operational stability.
- Utilize modern scripting languages and infrastructure as code practices.
- Support large-scale AWS production workload infrastructure.
- Lead technology projects and implement automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Utilize developmental toolsets including Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence.
- Maintain advanced understanding of AWS services for traditional compute, containerization, and serverless architectures.
- Provide expertise in Python and Terraform.
- Achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in software development and design using AWS services.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in modern scripting languages and infrastructure as code.
- Expertise in Python and Terraform.
- Experience with AWS production workload infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence.
- Leadership experience in technology projects.
- Knowledge of automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
- AWS Certifications - Solution Architect Professional, Developer, and/or Data Engineer.
- Terraform Certified Associate Certification.
