Summary: The Infrastructure Engineer role is a contract position focused on supporting a technology-led ecommerce business with a sustainability emphasis. The candidate will work on-site in Coventry, engaging in hands-on tasks across a modern Microsoft environment while managing business-critical systems and infrastructure projects. This position requires a proactive approach to resolving technical issues and maintaining system performance. The initial contract duration is three months, with the potential for extension based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support across 1st - 3rd line, resolving infrastructure and end-user issues
- Administer and maintain Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory)
- Support Hyper-V virtualised environments
- Deliver infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations and improvements
- Monitor system performance, ensuring stability, availability and security
- Support end-user hardware including laptops, desktops and mobile devices
- Work closely with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Maintain clear technical documentation
Key Skills:
- Experience in supporting 1st - 3rd line infrastructure issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory)
- Knowledge of Hyper-V virtualisation
- Ability to deliver infrastructure projects
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with end-user hardware support
- Excellent documentation skills

Infrastructure Engineer (Contract) | £340 per/day (Outside IR35) This candidate will have to be prepared to work - x4/x5 Days per Week Onsite in Coventry Here at Burns Sheehan, we’re supporting a growing, technology-led ecommerce business with a strong sustainability focus, looking to bring in a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer on an initial 3-month contract. This is a hands-on role with plenty of scope, working across a modern Microsoft environment while supporting business-critical systems and delivering key infrastructure projects.
