Summary: The Infrastructure Engineer role is a 5-month contract position focused on managing and supporting both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will engage in operational support and infrastructure-related projects, ensuring the stability and security of the organization's infrastructure. This position requires hands-on expertise in various technologies, including VMware, Veeam, and Microsoft Azure. The role is hybrid, based in Bellshill, and classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert input and hands-on support for infrastructure changes and project delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to shared goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and resolve third-line infrastructure support requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Document infrastructure platforms, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to defined standards.
  • Support infrastructure planning and implementation for system upgrades and M&A activities.
  • Conduct system testing for new and upgraded infrastructure prior to production deployment.
  • Assist in implementing IT policies and strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
  • Deliver project support and subject matter expertise across datacentre infrastructure systems.
  • Monitor, configure, and maintain infrastructure systems to meet performance targets.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
  • Work closely with security teams to support security processes and objectives.

Key Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi.
  • Proficiency in Veeam backup solutions.
  • Experience with Nimble storage platforms.
  • Solid background in Windows Server administration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.

Infrastructure Engineer - 5 months Contract - £500/day Inside IR35 - hybrid Bellshill - SCC FLEX CONTRACT

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the Infrastructure Operations function on a contract basis. The team is responsible for managing and supporting both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including HP Servers, VMware ESXi hypervisors, Nimble storage platforms, Veeam backups, Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and Microsoft Azure cloud services.

This position involves a blend of day-to-day operational support and participation in infrastructure-related projects. Successful candidates will contribute to the stability, scalability, and security of the organisation's infrastructure estate while supporting strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Your responsibilities as an Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Provide expert input and hands-on support for infrastructure changes and project delivery.
