Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Engineer Location: Basingstoke Type: Contract A leading global organisation operating within a highly regulated environment is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to support its UK technology operations.

The role sits across IT infrastructure, service delivery, vendor management and quality/compliance , acting as a key point of contact between the business, internal technology teams and third-party suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day IT infrastructure services and project delivery.
• Act as a key contact for local infrastructure requirements.
• Manage external IT support vendors and ensure agreed service levels are met.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of complex infrastructure issues.
• Support desktop, mobility, network, telecoms and meeting-room technologies.
• Work with global technology teams to improve service performance.
• Support infrastructure projects, upgrades and technology rollouts.
• Manage local infrastructure assets and support IT equipment procurement.
• Support access security reviews and operational controls.
• Help drive adoption of new technologies and infrastructure solutions.
• Support infrastructure quality, governance and compliance activities.
• Assist with audits, reporting and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve existing processes.

Experience Required

• 2+ years' experience within IT or infrastructure.
• Experience supporting infrastructure technologies including desktop, mobility, networking and conferencing technology .
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams .
• Experience working within a regulated environment .
• Strong vendor and third-party management experience.
• Good understanding of IT service management, ideally including ITIL .
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience with Power Apps or other automation tools would be beneficial.
• Power BI exposure would be advantageous.
• Exposure to Microsoft Copilot or generative AI tools would also be beneficial.
