Summary: My client, a large consultancy, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer specializing in GCP for a 6-month contract. The role requires a combination of on-site and remote work, with specific expectations for technical skills in cloud engineering and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will possess foundational scripting abilities and familiarity with various tools and methodologies relevant to cloud infrastructure. This position is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as an Infrastructure Engineer focusing on GCP.
  • Collaborate with teams in a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.
  • Utilize DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering practices.
  • Implement foundational scripting in Python, Bash, Java, or Go.
  • Employ CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Harness, or GitHub Actions.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform.
  • Engage with Kubernetes/containerization technologies.
  • Apply observability tooling knowledge (e.g., Prometheus, Dynatrace).
  • Adopt agile methodologies in work processes.
