Summary: The Infrastructure Architect role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing VMware-based environments, requiring a strong background in virtualization. The position demands leadership in technical solution delivery and expertise in various storage technologies. Candidates must possess valid DV clearance and a proven track record in complex infrastructure solutions. This role is ideal for those passionate about virtualization and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimise VMware vSphere environments (6.7 / 7) for performance and scalability.
- Create High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and support documentation.
- Oversee the design, build, and deployment phases, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Identify and resolve ESX performance issues to maintain system efficiency.
- Work with storage solutions including Veeam, NetApp, iSCSI, FC, NFS, and preferably Eternus.
- Ensure seamless integration with Windows Server 2019, including troubleshooting and optimisation.
Key Skills:
- Valid DV Clearance.
- Extensive VMware experience, including vSphere 6.7 / 7 and VCP-DCV 2019+ certification (or VCP5/6 equivalent).
- Deep understanding of virtualisation challenges and best practices for optimising VMware environments.
- Experience with ESX performance analysis and fault resolution.
- Storage solutions experience, including Veeam, NetApp, and various protocols (iSCSI, FC, NFS).
- Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience, including Windows Server 2019 troubleshooting.
- Experience with ISODE messaging products, SQL database management, and Network Data Diode solutions.
- Familiarity with Splunk for monitoring and analysis.
- MCSE or equivalent experience.
