Summary: The role of Infrastructure Architect involves leading a significant platform transformation from an existing Azure environment to a modern containerized setup. The architect will define and govern infrastructure architecture, design observability solutions, and ensure disaster recovery and resilience across various layers. This position is critical for shaping the future-state architecture of a cloud platform within a regulated, PE-backed business. The contract is for six months and is classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and govern infrastructure architecture across Azure and container platforms.
  • Design observability solutions using New Relic, Datadog, or similar tools, covering logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and operational dashboards.
  • Lead disaster recovery and resilience design across application, database, and data layers, including backup and restore testing.
  • Define environment topology, segregation, and operational support models.
  • Drive ITIL-aligned service transition into BAU, including operational acceptance criteria, runbooks, and escalation processes.

Key Skills:

  • Proven Infrastructure, Cloud, or Platform Architect experience.
  • Strong Azure architecture background.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AKS, Docker, or containerised platforms.
  • Expertise in observability and monitoring solutions.
  • Strong understanding of resilience, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
  • Experience delivering service transition and ITIL-based support models.

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to support a major platform transformation, moving from a current Azure estate to a modern containerised environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and govern infrastructure architecture across Azure and container platforms.
  • Design observability solutions using New Relic, Datadog, or similar tools, covering logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and operational dashboards.
  • Lead disaster recovery and resilience design across application, database, and data layers, including backup and restore testing.
  • Define environment topology, segregation, and operational support models.
  • Drive ITIL-aligned service transition into BAU, including operational acceptance criteria, runbooks, and escalation processes.
